Apple has released an update to iTunes that blocks users from creating free custom ringtones and then syncing them to an iPhone. Despite Apple’s best efforts to thwart users, a workaround has already been found and posted to the Internet.

Apple on Friday evening released iTunes 7.4.1 for both Mac and Windows PCs but made no mention of what the update addresses. Meanwhile, a Pro Application Support update targeting Final Cut Studio was also recently released.

After each major event, MacRumors provides a wrapup of rumors to reveal the sources of the most accurate (or inaccurate) information.
On September 5th, Apple held a media event which introduced a number of new products and services. These included the iPod Shuffle, iPod Nano, iPod Classic, iPod Touch, WiFi iTunes, iTunes with Ringtone Support, Apple/Starbucks Partnership, 8GB iPhone Price Drop.
While watching the keynote, what was striking was how many of the rumors surrouding the event were true. Our Rumor Roundup touched on many of the announcements with reasonable accuracy.
Seagate Technology announced a 2.5-inch internal hard disk drive aimed at laptop computers with 250GB of storage capacity. 160GB is the largest drive you can currently get for the MacBook Pro.
